퇴적물내 공극수를 추출할 때 가장 고려되어야할 점은
표층 퇴적물의 교란 문제이다.대부분의 퇴적물 채집기(Pistone
core, Gravity core)는 표층이 심하게 교란됨으로 공극수내
물질의 농도 분포가 변화되어 결국 계산된 Benthic fulx는 큰
오차를 포함하게 되어 부적합하다. 퇴적물 채집시
교란문제는 박스형 코아(Box core)를 사용하면 해결되나
대형장비로 이용이 쉽지 않다.
표층 퇴적물의 교란은 다이버가 직접 채집하여 해결할수
있다. 우리의 경우 투명 아크릴 파이프(내경: 10cm, 길이: 50cm,
파이프 두께: 1cm)를 특수 고안 제작하여 퇴적물이 교란되지
않게 채집하였다.

- The KC Van Veen grab is based on the Van Veen
design. The KC Van Veen grab is made of AISI 316 stainless steel. The
surface is electro polished.

- Sizes:
- There are 2 sizes of KC Van Veen:
250 cm² (12.100) and 1000 cm² (12.200).

- Lids:
- Both models can be delivered with 2
lids. (12.110 or 12.210). By using the lid(s) it is possible to take
out one or more undisturbed sample to have a look at the
stratification of the sediment without releasing the whole sample.

- 12.210: 120 x 120 mm each
